Reggae Sumfest, the greatest reggae show
This festival initiated in Jamaica in the year 1993 and has been a big influence in attracting youth to the Jamaican paradise. The event features a super awesome lineup of original Reggae artists on the Montego Bay. A combination of dancing, partying and live concerts making the nights in Jamaica a wonder to the visitors. The event has been a success in promoting reggae music for the past two decades in a well-known tourist destination. This show is considered to be the greatest reggae show in the world and the organizers have made sure that it is true with the great line up of events.
Organizing
The event is founded by the production company called Summerfest Productions and sponsored usually by the Red Stripe. This year the Diamond sponsors for the event are Digicel, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, and Secrets Resorts and Spas. There are platinum, gold and silver sponsors as well as other hotel partners. You can easily find accommodation once you visit there because of the large hotel chain present in Jamaica.
Reggae Sumfest 2016
The festival in the run of 24 years will be held this year as well, spreading the festival on the calendar from July 17th to 23rd. The event starts on the 12th with the Beachfest in the Aquasol Theme Park and ends up on the 18th with Star time at the Catherine Hall Ent Complex. The other events of this festival are Show Time, Dancehall Explosion and All White Affair which is guaranteed to keep you entertained the full time.
Tickets
The event has a variation of items that each require specific tickets. The Beach Fest tickets are priced at 1300 Jamaican dollars (11 USD), the All White Affair tickets cost the same amount as well and the Dancehall Explosion are priced at 3200 Jamaican dollars (28 USD). For Friday Show Time tickets can be bought for 50 USD while the Saturday Star Time show tickets are priced at 58 USD. However if you plan to stay the weekend you can obtain the VIP Red-Green-Gold pass which is priced at 200 USD 0r the VIP Weekend pas for 150 USD which is worth every penny you spend.
