The small place Tux in the Ziller Valley was first mentioned for the first time in the year 1280 and then it still belonged to Salzburg. You should not make the mistake and compare Hintertux with the party life in Majorca or in Lloret de Mar, because you will rarely find laser shows and foam parties in bars, clubs and discos on the Hintertux glacier.

  • Hohenhaus Tenne (website)
    The Hohenhaus is one of the most famous restaurants in Hintertux Tenne. The threshing floor is a colorful and cheerful mix of a base station for skiers as well as for the people who want drink, party and have fun, where famous bands such as the philanderer play in the farmyard and keeps everywhere buzzing.
  • Luigis Turbobar (website)
    Directly at the valley station one of the most popular bars in the ski area of the Hintertux glacier is Luigis Turbo bar. With lots of wood and comfortably furnished, you can celebrate with Luigi the whole night and in addition also there are still wonderful Italian foods. After midnight is the bar is the busiest, because then the chef personally leads the Polonaise and hit “Sierra Madre”, the lighters must be turned on.

Arrival to Hintertux

The best ways are to come to Hintertux, either the car or the train. With the plane, it is difficult, but not impossible.

With the car

If you arrive by car, which should go through the border crossing Innsbruck to Austria and then via the A12 Inntal motorway, then you have only up to the exit and from there it is then about 50 km to Hintertux.

By train

Best take up to Jenbach, and from there then to the Zillertalbahn to Mayrhofen station. From Mayrhofen, you can then take the post bus to Hintertux.

By plane

Take a plane to Innsbruck or Munich. From there continue with the shuttle bus to Hintertux.
